Sulu is gay

This was obviously done as a nod to George Takei, though the original actor was annoyed by it, saying he'd always played Sulu as a straight man, which is what Roddenberry intended. Hikaru Sulu is now known as the first openly gay character in Star Trek, but the character's sexuality hasn't always been so clear-cut.
